Blueprint Estimating

Our landscaping estimating services give contractors, developers, and GCs across all 50 states the takeoffs they need to bid accurately and win more work.
Get Estimate Now →Here is the thing about landscape bidding: it looks manageable until you're actually inside it. A commercial site with irrigation zones, retaining walls, drainage systems, softscape planting beds, water features, outdoor kitchens, and complex curves on the same set of plans? That is a lot of moving parts to price accurately on your own.
Most landscaping contractors who handle their own estimating in-house miss something. A drainage layer here, a pipe lengths calculation there, an entire sprinkler zone that did not make it into the count. You win the job on those numbers and then find out the actual cost is 15% higher. That is a painful place to be, especially on larger commercial projects where the margin was thin to begin with.
That's where we come in. Our landscaping estimation process handles the full takeoff so you get precise material lists, accurate labor figures, and cost estimates ready for your bid. No last-minute surprises on the job. And no gambling on numbers you built yourself at 10pm the night before a deadline.

We cover every scope line you would find on a residential, commercial, or industrial landscaping project. Hardscape, softscape, irrigation, drainage, site prep, planting. Our landscape cost estimators handle all of it under one roof.
Patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, decorative walls, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, fire pits, water features, fountains, ponds system components, lighting systems, fencing, and decking. Our estimators precisely measure each area, calculate the full material scope for each surface and structural element, and factor in base prep, compaction layers, and installation labor. Every layer gets accounted for, right through the finished surface.
Softscape is where a lot of in-house takeoffs fall apart. When you are pricing out turf mulch gravel tiles alongside sod, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and seasonal plantings on a plan with irregular zones and flowing curves, eyeballing the areas isn't going to cut it. We calculate square feet and cubic yard quantities for soil and mulch, build complete material lists by zone, and make sure the numbers reflect what installation actually costs.
Irrigation is consistently one of the most under-estimated scopes in landscape bidding. Our estimators count sprinkler heads, measure irrigation runs in linear feet, map pressure zones, calculate valve and controller quantities, and account for insulated pipes in colder climate projects. Our sprinkler system estimates cover drip irrigation, spray heads, backflow preventers, controller units, and all system components. Ponds system integration and water feature tie-ins are included where the plans call for them.
Grading, excavation, earth drainage layers, strom subdrainage reservoirs, retention basin components, and drainage pipe quantities are all covered. Many of these scopes overlap with our sitework estimating services, so GCs bundling both into one project can have them handled together. We also handle site clearing scopes: demolition of existing patios, walkways, fencing, old planting beds, stump grinding, and debris removal. These items are easy to miss on a first pass and expensive to discover after the contract is signed. Getting the drainage and clearing scope right early protects you from some of the biggest cost overruns in landscaping construction.
Individual tree and shrub counts, plant material quantities, soil amendment volumes, mulch depth calculations, and root barrier materials. We use auto count tools to quantify plan symbols and capture every element on the drawing. Every count is verified before the estimate leaves our hands.
We can scope any single trade. Irrigation only. Hardscape only. Softscape zone by zone. Tell us what you need.
Get your estimate →Landscaping estimating is not a one-client type of business. We work with a wide range of people across the construction industry.
If your scope is here, so are we. Send your plans and get a flat-fee quote back in 15 to 30 minutes.
A lot of estimating services send you a spreadsheet. We send you something you can actually use to win the bid.
Every estimate from our team includes a complete breakdown of material quantities, crew labor hours by scope, equipment allowances, waste factors, and current local pricing for your project's market. Labor rates and material availability vary significantly by region. What a landscaping project costs to build in Phoenix is not what it costs in Minneapolis or Miami, and our landscape cost estimators account for that so your numbers are realistic for where you are actually building.
We use PlanSwift for digital takeoffs, which lets us precisely measure areas, linear feet, and volumes directly from your plans. Irregular shapes, complex curves, multi-zone layouts are all handled. Bluebeam handles detailed markup and measurement on multi-layer drawing sets. RS Means provides current cost data that keeps our estimates grounded in real-world pricing. We run cloud based estimating software with auto count and cutout tools to speed up the quantify plan symbols process, and all files stay organized and accessible throughout.
We don't estimate one part of the landscaping project and hand the rest back to you. Our landscaping estimation covers everything from initial site clearing through final planting so your numbers are complete before the bid goes out. Accurate landscaping takeoffs across every trade, no gaps.
Our estimating services run between $200 and $5,000 flat, depending on project size and scope. You know the exact fee before we start. No hourly billing, no scope creep on the invoice.
All our landscaping estimates are organized under CSI Division 32: Exterior Improvements. Your estimate arrives in a format that GCs, owners, and project managers already know how to read. No translation required, no reformatting before you can use it.
Across every trade and project type we estimate
Residential, commercial, and industrial landscaping
Providing landscaping estimating services since 2011
Every market, every region, flat-fee pricing nationwide
Since 2011, we have been providing landscaping estimating services across all 50 states. More than 8,300 projects later, our team has covered every trade and project type in the CSI Division 32 scope, from small residential installs to complex commercial site packages.
We've built accurate landscaping estimates for residential backyard renovations, public park developments, resort grounds, municipal streetscape projects, and complex industrial site perimeter work.
The 96% accuracy rate comes from 15+ years of doing this, using the right landscape estimating software and estimating software tools, and hiring expert estimators who actually understand how landscaping projects are built. We have worked through enough past projects to know exactly where numbers go wrong: irrigation scope gaps, drainage underestimates, softscape measurement errors, and site preparation items that get missed on the first pass.
We catch those problems before your bid goes out. The cost estimates we deliver reflect what it actually costs to build in your market, not ballpark figures that collapse when subs start quoting.
Getting started takes about two minutes. Here is how it goes.
Upload your project plans through our website or email them directly. Include any spec sheets, bid documents, or scope notes. The more relevant information we have upfront, the more accurate your estimate will be.
We review what you have sent and provide a flat-fee quote. No obligation at this stage. You know the cost before we touch a single plan sheet.
Your assigned landscaping estimator works through every scope line in PlanSwift and Bluebeam. We use auto count tools, precise measurement functions, and RS Means pricing data to build the estimate from the ground up. Every estimator on our team has 15+ years of hands-on experience, which is why the whole process cuts your bid time down instead of adding to it. If you want to understand the mechanics behind it, read our breakdown of construction takeoff fundamentals.
You receive a complete estimate with quantities, labor costs, equipment, and contingency, in Excel or whatever format your bid process requires. No reformatting, no back-and-forth. Just numbers you can use and take straight into project management and bid submission.
Here is exactly what arrives when we deliver your completed landscaping estimate. The following components are included in every estimate we produce.
Everything is unit-coded. Quantities come in the units that matter for each scope: SF for sod and pavers, CY for soil and mulch, LF for pipe and edging, EA counts for trees, shrubs, and fixtures.
Labor is shown as unit hours so you can check crew-day assumptions against your own productivity numbers. Detailed measurements for every scope item are included so nothing needs to be reverse-engineered.
You see exactly where every dollar is going, which makes it easier to manage your project budget, have sharp conversations with clients, compare sub quotes, and protect your margin from bid day through final invoice.

Each project type has its own scope nuances, building codes considerations, and material requirements. Our estimators understand those differences and build estimates around the actual scope, not a one-size-fits-all format.
Everything you need to know before sending your plans.
Beyond faster turnarounds and more accurate numbers, here is what clients tell us they value most.
Hiring a full-time in-house estimator runs $55,000 to $75,000 a year before benefits, software licenses, and training. Outsourcing your landscaping estimating runs a flat fee per project, typically between $200 and $5,000. For most contractors submitting 5 to 15 bids a month, the annual spend is well under what a single in-house hire would cost, and the estimates come back faster and more accurate.
Tight margins get tighter when your numbers are off. When takeoffs are solid and pricing is current, you can price more aggressively without the risk. That is the difference between a bid that wins the job and one that also makes you money on it. For a deeper look at how the process works, our complete guide to construction bidding walks through it from start to finish.
Managing crews, clients, and subcontractors is already a full job. Handing the takeoff work to a dedicated landscaping estimator frees up the hours that used to disappear into plan sets and spreadsheets the night before a bid is due.
A complete, itemized estimate keeps everyone on the same page: your client, your subs, and your crew. It makes managing change orders and scope conversations a lot easier. Less guessing in the field means fewer problems on the back end.
Send us your plans. Whether it is a backyard renovation, a commercial site package, or a full irrigation takeoff, we turn it around in 24 to 48 hours at a flat fee. No surprises. Just numbers that hold up on the job.
